This is the story of the three Bender siblings who lived in Poland during World War II. Each of them made a decision based on love: Marysia for her son, Piotr, Josef for his fiancée and Adam, the paediatrician, for love of the children in his care.
Only one survived.
This is also about a unique man, Chiune Sugihara, a Japanese diplomat who saved thousands of European refugees from falling into the hands of the Nazis. His action were also based on love.
This is a story of immense bravery and sacrifice, of love and loss, of humanity at its worst and its best. A story that is a dedication to those who love deeply enough to pay the ultimate price.
Available now at www.amazon.com as a paperback or Kindle or from the author through this website.

Hello, I'm Jenny. I live in New Zealand with my husband, Howard, and a teen-aged cat called Anzac - you know the     sort, sleeps in 'til midday and parties all night. I love reading, playing classical guitar, cats and the colour turquoise. I hate the PC Nazis (which you'll notice in my more humorous books).
If you don't like using Amazon feel free to buy directly from me. Just email me from this website (go to the Contact page). All books are $2o.00 (NZ dollar) plus postage. I tend to send out books the same day I receive an order. (I'm funny that way.)

  • In the end, I am left speechless...
  • I'm awed, humbled, inspired, chastened.
  • Jenny shows that speaking of the unspeakable is an essential first step in healing of deep emotional wounds.
  • ...well done on a powerful and impeccably researched piece of work!
  • The book, to say the least, is so interesting I could not put it down.
  • Jenny Harrison, your 'Out of Poland' is an amazing read and so well crafted by an expert. Thank you.

The Siegel family of New Zealand knew nothing of their relatives until we opened the suitcase that had been hidden under the house for forty years.  We discovered the story of a family who lived in a small Polish town and whose lives were snuffed out when Hitler and his German Army rampaged through Poland in 1939.
This book returned their family to them and gave them a history.

This book will give you a  clear idea of the war in Poland, the suffering of both Jews and Gentiles and the heroism of those who saved the Jews from extinction.

It is now available at Amazon.com or through this website.
